Goal of the Project:

Investigate the use implementation of the digital watermark in both the time and frequency domain, and see where the current methods fall short and offer ideas for improvement. We will also investigate the methods for detecting and removing the embedded watermarks.

We will be using Matlab to write and test the algorithms for the Digital Watermarking as well as various pictures that have come from both online and from group members.

Tools:

One particular topic that we have learned a lot about is the plethora of functions in MATLAB's image processing toolbox, which is something that we had little experience with prior to this project. Since this project works extensively with images, we need to understand these functions in order to allow MATLAB to help us to a greater extent. Also, we have learned about the SVD, as well as its possible applications in the watermarking space. It has also been an eye opening experience into the research being done just on embedding watermarks and the different properties that pictures have.
